Dash Board problem 2017 X5M

My dashboard leather just separated from the windshield and was just told it costs thousands to replace the dash board.

I bought this car for $30k with 122k miles and just paid $2500 for new tires. I don't want to spend another chunk right away so I was wondering if anyone has found any quality dash covers for the X5M?

Has anyone had success with a different fix that didn't cost 5k+

You can buy a complete dash on eBay for much less than $5k. Your only other option is an upholstery shop realistically. Unfortunately, at the end of the day, it's still a $100k+ car, and the repairs will generally reflect that unless you get thrifty.

I'd rather have my "dashboard separated from the windshield", whatever that means, then put some cover over the dashboard.

Warning…I think this happened because the dealer left the car outside for 3 days while waiting for my tires to come in. Don't leave your car at the dealership if possible.
