E90 Akrapovic Muffler Outlet Length

I posted on FB, but figured it wouldn't hurt to post this here for some more exposure.

I picked up an E92 Akraprovic Evo, but plan on shortening the outlets to run it on my E90 since the mufflers are otherwise identical. Can someone with E90 Akrapovic mufflers please measure the length of the two muffler outlets from the muffler body (without tips installed)? I just need to know how much to trim off for the E90-spec.

You don't need to trim it. You just push the tip in as far as you can. I had e92 akra on my e90 without cutting.

The fact that Akra specifically made an E90 version leads me to believe there must be some reason to make them different lengths

I'll probably just end up fitting a muffler on the car to figure out how much length to remove to get the tips flush. I'll post the measurements here when I get around to it for anyone else that might consider doing this in the future.

It's up to you. It looked ok to me and I didn't want to reduce the market for it in case I wanted to resell. There are a lot more e92 guys out there.

Not just that, lots of people are weird and would only want the “unmolested” e90 version.

Edit: assuming the future market would be solely to the e90 crowd.

They're actually the same part number - Akra just trimmed the E92 version at the factory for the E90.

I'm not concerned at all about resale though. All I want is for the tips to fit flush like OEM to enjoy the car how I want to.

That’s fair, chop away I’d do the same.

Converted to E90-spec and saved 120 grams



Ended up trimming ~3.4cm off each outlet for anyone curious. No issues cutting the titanium.
