Meisterschaft GT2 vs. SGT Exhaust?

I am looking for an exhaust for my currently stock e92 and, sound wise, I think I've landed on a Meisterschaft exhaust. I will be getting just the exhaust and not adding the LX Pipes etc.

On the GT Haus website, I'm seeing that the GT2 Exhaust and SGT Exhaust are the same price ($2,798).

I've watched some videos, but honestly don't know the difference between these two exhausts and have not had the opportunity to hear them in person. I was wondering if anyone had experience with either of these and could point me in the right direction!

Performance isn't necessarily my goal here, much more about sound!

GT Exhaust (this may be the regular GT and not the GT2)

Super GT Exhaust

Thanks in advance!

SuperGT is basically an expensive straight pipe vs GT2 which has mufflers. I personally like the GT2 more since it gives it a more refined tone.

Thank you! I’m likely leaning towards GT2

If you are keeping stock x pipe go GT2. If you are ever going to get an aftermarket x pipe get the GT. The GT2 with a cat delete is obnoxiously loud

Will keep the stock x pipe, so it's looking like GT2 is the way to go!

Thanks for the info.

Just for reference, the car in that first video is a standard GT with the factory cats and X pipe. He did install straight pipes later which you can hear in subsequent videos on his YouTube channel. In my opinion, even with the factory cats and X pipe, the GT2 is pretty obnoxious sounding, at least in videos (I've never heard it in person). I have a GT on my car with everything else factory, and it's plenty loud for me.

Thank you!

And yes, I would keep the factory cats and X pipe; no straight pipes.

So maybe just the GT exhaust with factory everything else (and save a few hundred)? I'm really just looking for a bit extra noise, especially at lower revs, but definitely do not want anything obnoxious. Not necessarily looking for a performance boost of any kind. I would also want to make sure that everything passed smog in CA.

It looks like this is the GT2 with stock x pipe:

Doesn't sound extremely obnoxious here?

To me that video actually sounds like how the regular GT sounds on my car. Again, I've never heard a GT2 in person, but all the GT2 videos I watched prior to deciding on the GT made it sound quite a bit louder than the GT. If you don't mind it potentially being louder you expected though, then the GT2 sounds like it would work fine for you. I've had the GT on my car for 12 years now and it's been perfect for my tastes.

I wanted to thank everyone for the comments!

I actually went a slightly different route and just purchased the DINAN free flow axle-back exhaust system.

From what I've heard from reviews and videos, it feels a bit more stock (but louder) and gives just enough grunt, but nothing obnoxious. I also like the warranty and almost OEM-feel of DINAN products, especially on the older platforms like the e9x.

For those interested, here is how the Dinan Free Flow Axle-Back Exhaust sounds!
