2011 M3 coupe diff leak

Hey guys I think I have a diff leak, car is parked in the garage and there’s a few drops that accumulate every other day after it’s driven and parked could this be from a seal? Would the diff need to come out for the repair? Btw car has 57k miles so was a little worried why it would happen at low miles maybe it’s cause of the age. Thanks for the input in advance.

I had a leak there too. 50K miles.

You don't need to remove diff to change this seal. You need to remove just drive shaft.

Various places on the diff it could leak from. Guessing is useless. Just get under the car and take some pics.

It is also a super simple diff to pull.

If it is the input shaft seal, only let qualified people work on it (or do it yourself and follow the TIS directions).

I bet it's the diff pinion seal--but can also be the CV axle inputs. At any rate, I would get the FCP engineered seal.

As others already said it’s likely the pinion/input shaft seal. Did mine earlier this year.
