Stolen M3 turns up 18months later as a clone...
Over in the UK last week someone advertised their M3 for sale on an M3 Facebook group. They listed it as an "Alpine Edition", which they thought it was having done a VIN check.
It aroused my suspicions because there was nothing "Edition" about it, and eventually I was able to prove it was a standard M3 that had been stolen 18months earlier. Police are now investigating. You can read the full story in this M3Cutters article,... https://forums.m3cutters.co.uk/threa...-clone.245330/ |

I don't think the cloner knew much about M3's, otherwise they wouldn't have made such a schoolboy error of cloning a standard M3 to an Alpine Edition's VIN number. |
