Parking brake maintenance
What is the consensus on how many clicks the E-brake should click until it fully engages?
I've heard/read it is anywhere from 3 to 9, while mine now reaches the very end when it engages. |

Also, if there a trick to adjusting the e-brake tension at the hubs?
I tried doing it, and somehow the little gear in there wasn't budging… should it be easy to spin? Can it get stuck? |

It should spin freely. Take the rotor off and apply some grease on the adjuster wheel when you are at it.
Perhaps your pads are worn down if the handbrake handle is doing too many clicks before it catches?

Reading the procedure for parking brake adjustment- it sounds like you may not have engaged the service lock in the parking brake handle first:
https://www.pelicanparts.com/BMW/tec..._Adjusting.htm But in any case, 9 clicks from the handle is too many. You should never be going to max or close to it. |
