Starter Button Light won't turn off

Does anyone know what could cause this. My Starter Button is lit. All the time even when the car is locked.

It turns off when all the modules go to sleep..

If you go back an hour later it's still lit?

I had a similar issue when the original OEM battery started to fail. Check the condition of you battery and hook it up to a charger if you’ve got one. I also recall after doing some research the EDC module may be starting to fail and not fully going to sleep hence the start button staying illuminated.

Do a search and you’ll find a bunch of threads on the subject.

Luckily for me once I replaced and coded the battery all was well. Good luck!

May need to take it in and have them do a test for parasitic draw. I’d also double check that the tech coded the new battery as little electrical issues kept coming up until I had mine completed.

I'm not sure how difficult it is to get at the modules these guys are talking about, however, if you can access them I'd imagine if you disconnect 1 at a time and see if one of them turns the light off, perhaps that would let you know if you have a bad box? Or maybe even pulling relays or fuses 1 at a time?

But, I mean no offense here, if you took the car to the dealer to have the battery changed, this type of trouble shooting this might be to much tinkering for you?

If your car has EDC, this is most likely the culprit. I've had it happen twice now in my 10 years of ownership and am on my third EDC module:

So, was the issue with the dealer installed battery? Not coded correctly? Which lithium battery did you go with? Im thinking of going with a lithium battery too.
