cool paper on BMW F1 engines
Thought some people might get a kick out of reading this, it was written by Super Mario several years ago. I came across it last night. It's an interesting read for F1 fans that geek out on the technical side of things.

Thanks for this! I can't imagine designing things to run for a certain number of *hours*; it's a fine line between long engine life and catastrophic failure.

You can see one of these engines on display in the BMW museum in Munich.
Really intereresting, it's way smaller than you'd expect (than I expected at least). All the connectors, barb fittings etc are also really small, way smaller than normal automotive connectors etc. Obviously to save weight, but it gives a bit the impression that it's a model scale engine The clutch is also pretty interesting.
