Check the username that messaged you, betting it has an extra symbol in there you didn't notice. That seems to be the trend lately, unfortunately.

I sold my car in April of 2023, and a friend just sent me a link to this thread this morning.

Tried to log in but my password didn't work, so I had to reset it.

Please know that I would not allow a scam to ruin my reputation. I'm sorry about what happened. I would also never even consider scamming you (if I was a low life) for all of the help you've provided me when I had boost issues back in the day.

There's a lot of scammers on the forums these days.

You mind posting one of the messages from the said user? I’m curious if it was actually the OP’s account or if someone created another account with a symbol at the end. If this is the case this has happened over 3 times now. Wonder when admins change user permissions to stop this from happening

Totally my fault (embarrassing to admit) but I was traveling and just did not pay attention.

PM came to my email where it does not even show the senders name…. I did not check and blammo, my bad due to being rushed.

I will post all the details when I get back to my computer and report the user.

So the user that got me was Mss92xx (already banned it seems). Reason I did not notice was I was using my phone and the IM message does not highlight the sender (still my fault) very well.

Perhaps the user sending a PM could be highlighted in the subject line? Anyway, sucks but I have learned my lesson on this one.

Kevin Thomas was the name used on PayPal (has been reported). Friends and Family. Again, I am an idiot but alas, it has been a good run... 303-491-0550 was the phone number that was used.

prestonjohnso6584@gmail.com got involved at some point - I already knew I was screwed... Good times.

So, be careful and stay safe out there champions...

On a positive note, ESS had one in stock and I installed it in my car yesterday and it works fine. Small victory!
