Macht Schnell Underdrive pulley SOP-05/2008
Hi!
I have a 6MT E92 M3, production 01/2008. Have bought a underdrive pulley set from another M3 owner close to where i live, but we didnt think they were any different from DCT/6MT. Apparently they are. I think he originally bought this for his 2012 DCT M3, and when i mounted it on mine, it would either be to loose, or i couldnt turn the wheel at all. I have put the belt the "original way" and as in this picture: http://images.activeautowerke.com/in...%20onwards.jpg Does anyone know the exact difference between the pulleys in the DCT kit and the Start of production - 5/2008? Or is it just the lenght of the belt that differs? |

It’s not related to dct vs. 6mt. BMW changed the belt configuration from a single-sided power steering and AC belt to a double-sided belt for M3's that were produced after May 2008. You need a different belt than what you have.

The same crank pulley works. And you use your PS pulley instead of changing.
Make sure you use the correct belt routing diagram. Some pictures are off. Early is different from late. I suspect this is your issue. |
