I went through the exact same thing with my E90 back in December. Even did the same troubleshooting you listed, replaced coils, plugs, every sensors I could, etc. In the end I replaced the ECU because the original had markings of being opened up by the PO.

Got to keep the original. Not sure what to do with it now.

I will double check this one, might have been not secured post rod bearing install. Or the top one.

Hmm, ultimately I better pull mine and take a look. And see what the connections look like. My indy meant to look up the wiring charts to see what pins the O2s used.
