2009 M3 Sedan Titanium Silver ?
CA told me that Western Regional advised him that BMW "national" told him that the 2009 M3 sedan will have titanium silver paint available as a standard paint. I have a copy of the e-mail and the name of the Western Regional guy, not the national guy.
Standard metallic paint charge applies. Can anyone verify ? |

This is the first I hear ov TiAG as an option. I doubt it but cant verify.
Anyways, IMHO, getting the SSII is a better choice since its and ///M only coler that will stand our from the endless see of TiAG silver BMWs |

Agreeeeeeeeed. like 70% of them are TiAG geez. MY 2003 320i was TiAG. My 2002 m3 was TiAG. I got sick of it so i got my e92 m3 jet black.

OK I'm an idiot
I placed an order for a 2009 M3 coupe in Titanium Silver.
The process for approval took a week. It involved approval at the Western Regional Distribution center as well as someone in Germany at the factory. Build week was 42 but is now up in the air due to the special order paint (code 490). I'm expecting late Dec or early jan delivery I deleted premium and tech package to pay for it. I was ready to go with Jerez if this didn't pan out. I know another guy ordered an M5 in moonstone and it never materialised so I'm curious to see if it shows up. Since you deleted options, I gather that the money was a factor for you. If money is a factor, why? You will never get the upcharge for the special paint back in resale value and having no tech or premium will definitely hurt the market for your car. I don't want to be a dick, but you just effectively blew several thousand dollars for a different shade of silver? |

You won't miss tech or folding mirrors and will have a different silver than others have. Go for it. I would probably do the same for Electric Red if I knew one would eventually show up. I got AW instead though, and it's en route now.

Price
Special order paint is Invoice $4,550 MSRP $5,000 wether it is Laguna Seca blue or a color from the other three series palette.
I could only do it if I kept my other options down and got a discount from MSRP. As you know metallic is $550. That is included in the $5,000. As I said before. I'm an idiot. I just ordered what I wanted. No disrespect to Silverstone II. That color looks stunning in many lighting conditions. |

If I were younger, I think I would go for Interlagos. Now I'm more into subtle. I think the Le mans blue will be great too. Titanium will match my remaining hair.
I like the look of the car and think it looks great in any color |

Will at Long Beach BMW
I talked to about 10 dealers in person and many more via internet.
Will@longbeachbmw was the only one who would do the initial legwork and put in the requests to BMWNA and BMWAG germany for the special order paint. He made a very favorable offer and was always professional. He has the contacts. I went with a dealer closer to home with a slightly better price and if for some reason that falls through I'll be back in touch with Will at Long beach. |

Paint
Technically this is not "individual". It is just not a standard color on that model. In this case other three series (like the 335i) are painted in Titanium Silver at the same factory in Regensburg. The car is still painted at that factory. I've had conflicting reports. Some say it is hand sprayed by the guys in the paint booth and others say that they can reprogram the robots.
The paint code for TiAg is 354. However it goes to the factory with the paint code 490 along with a fax to designate that it is a special order. |

Who cares about technical. It is an individual paint job done specially for you man. That is awesome.
