Bad Idle Control Valve?
What are the symptoms of a bad ICV?
I'm pretty sure my car needs a new one or needs cleaning. The idle is always strange and everything else seems to be fine. I have a code for a bad alternator which I'm replacing soon. But my car really acts up in dense air. That's the best way to describe it. In a parking garage with a bunch of cars running, the car will bounce the idle and fluctuate heavy. Once I get out, its fine. I live in South Florida and the car has only ever stalled on South Beach. I guess the air down there is a little more dense as well? I know most people would say actuators but I've had this problem for almost a year now. It's just now getting worse. I have an ICV to throw in. Just wanna be sure thats it before I start taking shit out. Also, my fuel tank breather valve has been replaced so it shouldnt be that.

Start off by removing the ICV and cleaning it with carb cleaner. Before you re-install the unit, test it's rotational movement with 12V of power.

I know this is a couple of months old but were you able to fix your issue? I'm having the same problems and I am hoping a simple cleaning of the ICV will help.
