Yea, they are blueish and blue lights as well as forward facing red lights are for emergency vehicles. Disable them in idrive and go get it signed off. Easy. I don't think anyone is going to risk their job for a fix it.

No they don't. If you disable DRL in the idrive, that's what they are. They won't come on. You'll get away with it unless the person signing off knows bmws well.
If they still come on, someone did some weird shit with the wiring.

Yea, with my car, disabled in idrive, it wont be on with lights turned off. Switch it on to parking lights on or headlights on, they come on with.. so is my drl's wired wrong? Or something setup wrong?

I couldn't imagine doing anything to my car to make it more conspicuous.. I must be getting old but I wouldn't want to give a cop any excuse to pull me over. No front tint, yes front license plates don't fuck with tinting lights/funny colored lights, no obnoxiously loud exhaust. I don't even like personalized plates. If you purposely tune your car to shoot flames or pop obnoxiously.. I don't like you.. a wise man once said, speak softly and carry a big stick..

Blue and red are a big no-no if you have over-sensitive cops in your area.
I would stick to yellow/amber/white.

You got lucky.
If it was here in Toronto, they would have slapped you with a ticket the first time they saw you on the road. Red and blue is a pretty sensitive color here.

Just un-plug them, go show the chp office how there is "no" light whatsoever, leave, plug back in. Boom.

Since the ticket explicity calls out blue halo rings I'm pretty sure any officer signing them off will expect them to be working.
