The surrounding trim that has cutouts for the two cup holders is $32.

I just replaced mine. ECS has both. I have both in pretty good shape, not flawless... but at the price you're better off just buying new!

I need to replace mine as well. Cjm41, how did you remove the surrounding trim? I have an 08 e90 which doesn't have the silver trim on the cover.. I'm assuming the cover also can be un-clipped in the 08 but someone told me otherwiwe that I had to replace the whole cup holder.

You need a pry tool to get under the trim on the sides to pop them off. Then pull from middle with the pry tool and hands

Grab a $15 pry tool kit and toss it in your toolbox, it's good to have... I've been replacing trim on my car here and there and the tool has been invaluable. The trim piece will pry right off, just stick the pry tool and work around it until then clips have slid out.

The cup holder trim cover required some prying with the fingers.

NOT the IND one that's like $12 for one.

Just go into any autozone or advance auto parts, they'll have a kit for $15 or so.

Mine looks like this:
