--F80m3 Competition Seats-- **Front and Rear**
Got a deal on some brand new comp seats front/rear and belts from a totaled out PDI car locally and swapped them into my E90 a few weeks ago.
I had trouble finding anyone else with any insight on putting F8x seats into any E9x cars so I assume this is one of the few or the only example. Here are a few photos along with some details for anyone else who may be interested in the future. **NOTE: I assume F82/E92 swaps are the same but my car is an E90 What you need 1- F8x Seats 2- F8x Seat belts ** NOTE: probably dont need these for F82 seats** 3- E9x LCI seat modules 4- E9x spare set of yellow seat connector housings ** or you can hack your harness up/rob them off your old seats ![]() Brief Notes 1- Direct bolt in 2- Everything works, mem, heat, side airbags etc etc bla bla 3- Driver seat elec pins swap directly from F8x-E9x connector housings 4- Pass seat elec pins swap but need to change a 2-3pins *cant remember which off hand 5- E90 must reclaim F80 belts from their reels and move them to the E90 belt reels, **direct swap, the brackets which bolt to the seat are different** 6- Must use E9x LCI driver seat module (Pre LCI will not work nor will the F8x) 7- Must use E9x passenger seat module (Pre LCI and LCI is the same) 8- Use your original seat buckles (these will clip into the yellow connector body housings to match up with your car) 9- Swap airbag connectors this can be by de-pinning **DONT CUT THEM** (these will clip into the yellow connector body housings to match up with your car) Ive had my car for 6 years now and cant say enough good things about how much better this car feels now with these seats, lower seat position, much tighter feel over E9x seats, an entirely new driving experience with them. Wish I would have done this sooner... **Rear seat install brackets see page #3** -Adam ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by AdamJ39; 01-04-2019 at 08:26 PM.. Great job OP! I’ve been thinking about doing this before and now that it’s been done with very minimal work, the search for F82 seats begins.

Definitely looks great, with those seat belts too!
Someone in LA has done the exact same thing, overheard it from Mike at BPM earlier this year. Memory is a bit vague, but I "think" the conversation was that even the rear seat pieces are direct bolt on as well. Did you score the rear seats too? If so you are winning!

Yea I have the rear seats as well but the tunnel to the trunk is a different profile so the reveal isnt trimmed out the same as the E90, the bottom cushion nearly 100% fits, trims out all around perfectly but the front retainers are moved fwd just enough to make it tough to get in (id guess about 5-10mm) the side bolsters fit and trim out correctly but only 2/3 retaining clips in the rear hold in in place (f8x has one relocated **sides I belive**) -Adam |
