Is it possible to polish BMW matte plastic parts?
I have some engine bay matte black plastic parts that have been scratched. Is there a way to polish out the scratches or another method to remove them without making the part shiny? This is an example of the finish on the parts I am talking about. Thanks! Jeff

Wet sand any deep scratches, then spray with flat black paint. Good as new.
Looking at yours, just a coat of flat black paint should do the trick. |

Does anyone have an idea of what brand would color match the black of the plastic? Thanks all!

that's an aggressive way to go. you should have just started with a good apc, isp wipe down, and dress it with your choice of dressing. all plastic parts need this procedure done to avoid fading of trim pieces.

i'd refrain from trying to paint it.... its probably not going to match the rest of the plastic after that. looks like its a $190 part for some reason, so just getting a new one would suck.
i recently used meguiar's hyper dressing for my underhood plastics and i was really impressed. i'd try something like that first to try to go the conservative route. paint seems like a really bad idea.
