Dinan intake shorter than stock?

So I just installed a used Dinan CAI myself and the air filter element doesn't butt up against the spring loaded "nub". Pic below.

Is this normal?

Normal. The nub is for oem style filters. Dinan uses clamps to hold the filter on.

Thanks Chuck, I found instructions online and they do refer to an extension. Will followup with Dinan to see if they have the part. Second choice will be the MS one.

right. its for oem style, or aftermarket "drop in" filters. the dinan intake system has a filter that bolts on to the intake neck, holding the filter in place. i suppose if one wanted the filter to use the nub and the hose clamp, you could do that.
