Reduced engine power in limp mode, traction inactive

I was just driving and reduced engine power sign popped up, check engine light isnt always on with this, I can delete code and the reduced engine power light pops up with the traction off. Im not sure if its just an engine issue or something with the ABS or?

starts fine and drives fine just no power.

I just pulled a code p2100 from it for throttle actuator, Im wondering if this is for sure it?

2009 hardtop vert M3 60k miles or so.

I want the power back please, prius's passing me is messed up.

Check to make sure the air filter is clean.

Get the actual BMW code for it not a generic OBD code. But its quite likely an issue with actuators.

Umm, the code says throttle actuators, so yes, it's probably those.

Check the BMW TIS (service manual) and see what the diagnostic steps are.

If it is TA's it will start throwing you into limp mode intermittently. The best thing to do is do just replace them, as the gears slowly strip out because they are plastic. It is also possible to have a failure with the Siemens circuit boards.

I would suggest replacing them if it's your daily driver. I believe there are a few companies making rebuild kits to change the gears.

If your interested in that YouTube has some videos for that and they also have some good DIY's. Use the YouTube guide for water pump and thermostat to take off the plenum. Then use the M3 post guide for the TA's.

Lastly, if you want I have two TA's. One of them is still good and one was throwing a code. I made a thread about this before, so if you search you will find it.

I'd be willing to sell them. However, one was good and the other was throwing a code. I dismantled both of them and found wearing on both TA's gears.

If you wanted to buy them I'd sell them, it I think both would benefit from the gear rebuilds, which is like $150 or so on amazon for the new gears.

Good luck and search through the posts here. I had the same issue and was able to complete the repair on my own using DIY here and YouTube.

Most likely Throttle Actuators. Just contact M Power Motorsports and buy Actuators from them. Will save you money and also a piece of mind vs just changing the gears. Majority of the times, changing gears doesn't work. Or if it does, it's just a very temporary fix.

had the same problem, i rebuilt the throttle actuators with the odometer gears, problem was fixed.
