No sound of rev-matching

Hi, I am new here so please excuse me for wasting your time if similar posts exists.
So my issue is when downshifting in manual mode or in auto my car no longer makes this great noise (when you overdrive or rev-matching on down shifts they over way to call it). I tried it in M mode and in different specs (the transmission in 5 and in 1) still no sound when you downshift. Local mechanic says it is idle control valve but I have no faults. Could anyone suggest what it could be and what should i check?
Thanks in advance.
Car specs : 2010 bmw m3 e90, dct, 46.000 km, ESS exhaust

you have to be going fast enough for the rev's of the lower gear to shoot up high. you also have to have the DCT level at four or five.

Try the Alpine GTS DCT tune, I found it gave a healthy dose of rev-matching when I had it.

The sound is very inconsistent, in my experience. It really depends on a variety of factors: engine load, engine speed, ambient temps, etc.

I don't know about you guys, but if I'm in S4, S5, S6 - I always get the blip and it's audible. I'm sure if it's because I have gutted everything in my exhaust other than the secondary cats but the blips always happen in those modes.

My downshifts in s4-6 are always very noticeable, even more so with GTS software. That glorious sound is intoxicating.

Same here, always a blip in S4-S6 assuming its not very low rev when shifting down.

*Obligatory comment on how the "true enthusiasts" always get a rev match blip because they did it with their own foot.*

Are you saying that with a 6MT you can manage this yourself?
