Gintani Burble Tune + Stock Exhaust CAT WEAR

Hello quick question as in the title.

If I added the Gintani burble tune with a stock exhaust + cats still intact would this cause excessive wear on the CATS or the O2 Sensors?

I know all the new cars these days have this function from factory with stock exhaust so I am wondering if it can be done on the E92 Safely


Any input would be appreciated

I love my Gintani tune. I cut my primary cats out, but left the res and secondary cats in. Its been about a year now and my car runs better than ever. As far as long term side effects I am unsure. Fingers crossed the tune does not cause issues, but as of now its 100% worth it. Nice thing is you can kind of control the amount of burble. It only burbles when you let off around 6k which I don't do often. If you let off the gas at 6k and let the trans slow you down it burbles like crazy which is not a typical daily driving technique. I usually push the clutch in and go to neutral when slowing down, because I figure new brakes are cheaper than a new tranny. That being said the burble is there when your really getting on it and not when normal driving. Perfect in my opinion.

Don't do the burble with stock cats, you would need to go catless.

Hold on here, I'm about to put some test pipes in and keep the stock secondaries and stock resonators just like the gentleman in the video above......why does his car seem so crazy loud........no way it's that loud after only removing primaries. I'm scared, that seems too loud for me. I thought I read people saying it's barely a noticeable increase in sound by deleting primaries and keeping everything else stock. The old lady is going to be pissed.

I'm guessing offaxis doesn't have the stock muffler installed anymore. I've removed the primary cats and kept the stock secondaries & resonators, as well as done the OEM mod, and inside the cabin it sounds 100% stock yet when cruising around. If you hammer down, it's definitely louder outside, but it still sounds nearly stock inside. With only the primary cats removed and keeping the stock muffler, the old lady will not be pissed at all. Believe me, I had a Gintani Race exhaust with no primaries, and that was LOUD (mostly due to drone), but now my old lady is infinitely happier to hear the modified OEM muffler re-installed.

I just got the Active AutoWerke tune for my 2011 E92 M3 with burble. Oh my god! I love it! I just can't stop myself doing the burbles all the time. I know it would cause engine problem in the future but can't stop myself lol

Burble tunes are great for 3 things

1. Destroying Oxygen sensors
2. Consuming gas
3. Making you look childish in traffic


There are no performance oriented benefits. If the pops and burbles were natural to this engine, that's one thing. Artificial burbles created by software and poor tuning is another.
