E9x DCT vs F80

I saw this today about the DCT on the new M3 CS

It appears that the drive ratio is very different than the E9x, I did not know this. E9x DCT 4.78/2.933/2.153/1.678/1.390/1.203/1 R4.454 Final 3.154.

I've only driven the new M3 (2016) on the track and didn't get into the higher gears so I can't compare with E9x. Does anyone know if the over drive gears on the F80 DCT are for fuel economy or a requirement for the high torque at low RPM the S55 generates?

yea, they are going to be quite different. the engines are completely different and the gearing needs to address that.
