Macht schnell Spacers

Hi everyone

Can 15mm front/ 12mm rear spacers from macht schnell cause any premature suspension wear?

I bought my car cpo from Bmw which came with them. I drove with them on with no issues for nine months until a few weeks ago I started getting vibration on the highway.

My shop took them off for me and the vibration went away. However the handling/steering became looser which I'm thinking is because of the scrub radius. Is this just in my head or can spacers make steering feedback tighter especially on turns?

I'm thinking of putting them back on but I want to know if they will cause more harm than good In terms of suspension wear.

Why didn't I have vibration from them for nine months until a few weeks ago where they started vibrating.

What tips do u suggest on overlooking when installing them again to prevent vibration?

If any guys on here had spacers for a certain amount of miles and how many without any issues please let me know.

Your help is greatly appreciated!

I've had spacers on my car for roughly 50,000 miles with no issues what so ever. Most spacers are hub centric so the mounting surfaces must be clean on the hub, the spacer and the wheel for them to seat properly. If you all of a sudden got a vibration then either your wheel was out of balance, wheel boltsloosened, or you have a suspension component wearing out. If it stopped when you removed spacers and re installed wheels then I would say your wheel bolts may have just needed to be retorqued and it would have fixed the issue.

Also when they removed the wheel spacers did you have the tires balance before they installed the wheels back on? If so, then the spacers were not the issue, the balance was the issue.

Thank you get lit for answering. Yes they did wheel balancing when taking them off. I put back the spacers this morning. There is still a vibration on the highway. The shop put grease on the spacers, torqued them with an air gun with the wheels in the air. What else can contribute to vibration from the spacers? My wheels balanced perfectly too. Can anyone else please tell me their experience with wheel spacers and how long did you drive with them on? Or are wheel spacers just not popular on the e9x platform?

Thank you!

macht schnell spacers are good quality ones, one of major spacers used in BMWs, and 15/12 is the most popular setup of spacers with stock wheels (219, 220, 359M wheels).

I also have the exact setup with 359M wheels, had some vibrations here and there on highway above 80mph, but nothing serious.

I've never heard of suspension premature wear because of spacers in any car, not jus bmws, especially when the spacers are 15mm/12mm which are very conservative dimensions.
