Dinan, Emissions Inspections and BPM Tune

There are multiple threads related to this topic so I thought I would start yet another just to clear the air so to speak.

Evidently and according to Dinan, the tune that they currently sell no longer prevents modules from being 'ready'. However, the Stage II tune I purchased from them in January.....with a stock exhaust system did just that. Insane drive cycle aside, that tune was a waste of money for me as my car would not pass state inspection. There is another thread where Dinan weighs in, maybe it just didn't work out for me.

I've got the Dinan intake and will likely get their strut braces and I am certain of their quality. Maybe there was a software option to install an exhaust modification and I was not given the choice which would make it a dealer issue but regardless.

Fast forward to a few weeks ago, I purchased the tune from BPM Sport and not only did the car pass inspection but it runs like....wait for it, a raped ape. Right after I installed the tune with Mike Benvo's patient assistance I had to travel for a week so I am just now getting to check it out. Combine that tune with the OEM exhaust mod, cooler weather in Houston so you can run with the windows down and life is good again. And the car passed inspection today.

Purely a butt dyno but I am far more pleased with the BPM Sport tune.

It absolutely does. Candidly and being completely objective I did not feel much if any bump in performance after the Dinan tune.

When I finally had the opportunity to push it and really get aggressive with the car post BPM tune, I was very pleased with how it performed. Additionally, I have a cable and the software if I ever need to get it back to stock.

You passed emission inspection with stage 2 BPM tune? Isn't stage 2 for catless? I fail emissions here in Virginia with BPM stage 2 because im catless.

No, I do not have a modified exhaust and do not have the exhaust option for the tune.
