Need Help, What Services Should I get Done? 2011 M3.

2011 Dinan BMW M3 - ~76,500 miles

I finished up all my mods while I was waiting on my title (had to payoff loan in another state and then wait for the title, record, and get insurance..and I couldn't help myself.)

I am now wanting to know what services should I look to get done? I am unaware of what the previous owner has done but he did tell me he got everything done at BMW of Nashville (I will be going to BMW of Chattanooga.)

Is there any "Inspection 1", "Inspection 2"? As there was for my 2005 300ci?

Would love any and all help that I could get from you guys, any specific things I need to look for, oil/fluid changes, etc?

If you wanna see here, check my sig! Thanks again!

Instead of bringing it to the dealer...either find an Indy in Chattanooga or take a trip up here to Nashville and I will take care of you!

Hey Spencer, the owners manual should give you information on maintenance schedules. Does the previous owner know or have receipts for fluid changes, brake pads etc?...?? At your mileage IF these services have not been performed you will want to start thinking about them. Brake pads, rear diff fluid obviously oil change very soon if prior owner didn't give you that info.

If I'm not mistaken, and I very well could be, I think BMW did away with the inspection phases with our cars. So "inspection 1" was the initial 1,200mi break in service, and there is no formal "inspection 2".

OP, there are some good resources on recommended maintenance on here, although each vehicle is driven differently and may have different needs. Check these two posts out:

Battery (incl. Registration): Every 48-60 months
Brake fluid + clutch bleed: Every 24 months (more if tracked semi-regularly)
Cabin air filter: Every 30,000 miles or 24 months
Coolant: Every 24 months
Differential oil: Every 30,000 miles or 36 months
Engine air filter: Every 30,000 miles or 36 months
Engine drive belt: Every 60,000 miles
Engine oil + filter (8.8 L / 9.3 qt): Every 7,500 miles or 12 months
Hoses (coolant + fuel): Every 150,000 miles
Oxygen sensor: Every 120,000 miles
Power steering fluid: Every 30,000 miles (also recommend changing reservoir since the filter is built into it)
Spark plugs: Every 37,000 miles
Transmission oil (6MT, and ideally DCT if you can get the fluid): Every 30,000 miles or 36 months
Vehicle check (dealer checklist, on iDrive): Every 30,000 miles or 48 months
Water pump and thermostat: Every 90,000-120,000 miles

Or if you want bare minimum maintenance, go to BMWNA's site and grab your Warranty and Service Information Booklet PDF: http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Conte...antyBooks.aspx.

Take the key to any dealer and ask for a key read. They can pull the car's service history (as long as the work was done at a dealer), as well as the build sheet and other neat info. It takes them all of 90 seconds and will even show what services you need and when.

Until you get the key read performed, don't spend money on maintenance -- it would just be a guess.
