What's up with transmission fluid MTF-LT-2?

Did some searching, but couldn't figure out what MTF-LT-2 is not stocked anywhere online? Did it get formally superseded? I noticed at Turner when you search for it they recommend: "Pentosin FFL-4 manual transmission fluid (OEM equivalent to the BMW MTF LT2 oil). This fluids meet BMW specifications and is made in Germany."

Has anyone recently done a change at a dealer? Are they still stocking/putting in MTF-LT-2?

Not looking for opinions and suggestions on what transmission fluid to use, plenty of that already available out there in many other threads.

Did mine at a dealer a few mouths ago and they used lt2 but might be different in the U.S

I had the same issue, I did some research and found that the MTF for the M4 is the new LT-5.

The LT-5 bottle states that it is comparable/compatible with performance levels of the GL-4 fluid that the MTF-LT-2 your looking for is.

Needless to say I picked up a few bottles of the new LT-5 at my dealer, and its been fantastic for the past 6 months.

It's possible BMW is replacing the LT-2 with the new LT-5, which explains the shortage.

Thanks. Confirming your comment on comparison to earlier GL-4 with the below product image from ECS. Also same 75W80 spec. I wonder why none of the bigger online retailers are directing MT-2 shoppers to the MT-5, e.g., Turner, ECS? They all just say out of stock without any other direction.

MT-5 Price per liter at ECS is about the same between BMW OEM and Pentosin OEM labels... and about the same as MT-2.

For reference information, MT-5 part # for BMW OEM is 83222239654 and equivalent FFL-3 Pentosin part # is 00004320729. Apparently the FFL-3 Pentosin is prescribed for late model Porsche PDK transmissions too. ECS also says FFL-3 Pentosin is "Approved for BMW 6-Speed Manual Transmission 2010-on."

Maybe I'll save myself the trouble and just drop in some Redline MTL or D4... ha.
