How to bring Stainless steel look back on exhaust?

So I recently purchased a Magnaflow #15544 and the previous owner I believe painted the mufflers along with the tips with some black paint?

Paint is chipping/doesn't look good.

Is there any way to bring the stainless steel look back on tips and mufflers? Looking to do this prior to install.

Any input appreciated

Depends a bit on what kind of paint he used. If he just rattle canned the tips with paint from AutoZone then you can use a red or white Scotch Brite pad soaked in some lacquer thinner to strip it off. After it's off, you can keep the brushed look or you could polish it with some metal polish.
