I better be getting 400 of them! That would equal what, 4000HP? Pretty good for $1000. |

This is coming from a guy that on his first E92 M3 had full Dinan exhaust, suspension, tunes (engine/DCT), intake and pulley. Good quality parts but overpriced IMO. To finish, all of the above tuners I've listed are active on these forums and all provide amazing customer support from what I've seen and observed first hand. Dinan to my knowledge don't participate in these forums.

Tuning a car with the stock Xpipe is not worthwhile, removing the primary cats is where the power is. That can be accomplished with $350 test pipes, and then the tune on top of that is worthwhile. Like others mentioned, ESS, Evolve, BPM, Alpine etc. are active on the forums and can help you out. I have an evolve tune on my car and it absolutely transformed it. It's so much smoother and simply a joy to drive. Hard to say which company is better, as someone who spent $1000 on one company's tune is not going to spend another $1000 on a different company's tune to compare. Edit: Jiggz just posted that the Dinan tune is 419.xx, I still say test pipes are more worthwhile. |

If you really HAVE to have Dinan, keep your eyes on their website for a sale. I got my Dinan ECU and DCT tunes both at 50% off during a promotion they ran in February. I noticed a very slight bump, so it was worth the $210 I paid for it, but I would've been slightly disappointed had I spent the full price on the tune. DCT tune on the other hand I think was worth the money...
I've met the owner of BPM and can say he is an incredibly knowledgeable and nice guy, I wouldn't hesitate a minute to do business with him... Look him up on here, Mike Benvo.

Thanks for the advice guys, much appreciated.
I'm now looking into removing the cats, but my only concern would be noise. Do you have any catless set up suggestions that would keep the noise at a minimum? I'd keep the stock xpipe. |
