Plenum cover nut

Anyone replace their cover nut? I accidentally snapped the bolt in half. I know it's only decoration but it's ugly now. how to remove the thread?

they are non-functional. i don't know why you would even mess with it, but just glue it back on and nobody will know.

Just use an easy-out to remove the broken part from the nut, or you can get a new nut for about $10. Part number is 11121401517. If you have enough thread to screw it back just use some threadlocker and put it back on.

The problem is that the stud snaps off flush if you try to remove the nut, so there won't be any thread to install a new nut onto. They are installed at factory with loctite. They are not intended to be removed as the plenum cannot be split open anyway.

Best option is to take a new nut and some epoxy and glue the nut back into position.

i wouldn't remove anything... just glue back on what fell off.
