Clutch issue this morning....

Got in the e90 M3 this morning, depressed the clutch to the floor, cranked the car and it started lunging forward (didn't start because I immediately removed the key). The clutch obviously didn't engage and stuck to the floor. I put the car in neutral and cranked it up and pressed the pedal once and it popped right up and I could engage and disengage it freely and could shift through all gears (the 3 I tried). Left the car at home today and took the Acura to work......

Is this a symptom of the clutch going bad or could it be bad/low fluid? I'll check the fluid levels when I get home from work, just seeing if anyone one else had encountered anything like this. I have noticed no slippage at all from the clutch.

I had that happen once. Started the car in gear with the clutch in and the car started moving. I held the brake until it stalled. I checked everything and couldn't find anything wrong, I started it in neutral and the clutch engaged fine. I started it in neural for the next few days until I was confident it was working well. I had recently changed the brake fluid (about a week earlier) and I assume there was an air bubble in the system. It never happened again, and it's been about a year.

I had this happen to mine after I went through a flooded portion of the street. It was only about 6 to 8 inch deep and quick like a big puddle. But then car sat for 10 hours while I was at work. When I went to start it that same thing happened. Once I shut car off and restarted it was fine. I attributed it to water getting in assembly some where and rusting clutch to flywheel and it broke free from the inertia of stopping the engine. Speculation of course but that was 4 years ago and only experienced it one time. I think if it were at all hydraulic related the pedal would feel noticeably different but it felt totally the same.
