Need some more info on Dinan tune
So I can get a pretty solid deal at my local Dinan retailer on a tune. 634 dollars for a catless tune. I just moved and I'm on a budget so I'm trying to go for it in order to remove the light and pass NY inspection. I'm not worried about the performance gain right now (I know the Dinan one isn't great in that aspect). My concern after reading everything that I have is that I can't find anything accurately pointing to it making only ONE monitor not ready. I know there are more expensive tunes that do so you can pass inspection, but does anyone know if the Dinan one does? Again, the only purpose of this is for inspection. If more than one monitor wont be ready then I don't see the point. So finally to sum it up, will this set all monitors except for o2?

From what I read and have argued to my heart's content with tuners, they do not 'make' sensors go ready.
Some tuners will use the euro files, but apparently some states read what location your file is from and if it's euro it'll fail even with 8/8 sensors ready. All tunes will get 7 of 8 ready. Specifically, the secondary O2 sensors won't be ready. It should still pass as pretty much all states allow 1 not ready sensor For purposes of inspections, 1 not ready means a type of sensor. So secondary O2 sensors counts as 1 even though there are two. I would loooooove to find a tuner who can, with a US file, 'make' the sensors ready. No dice so far ![]() |

I was referring to the primary cats.
It's odd though, realoem shows primary and secondary cats in the US and Euro versions. Maybe there is no difference in the Xpipe. |
