458 miles and holding, M3-less in Seattle
I'm stuck in the Pacific Northwest for 3 weeks without my M. It's sitting in my garage at home in Jersey on the trickle charger until I get home. I'm going to have M withdrawals. If any of you PNW M3 owners want to take me for a ride to ease my withdrawal symptoms, just a ride in the right seat will suffice. APW??? can you help a guy out?

i feel your pain. My M is my second car and have not driven in all week. Been on the road. Jumped into it last night. Let her Idle in the garage a bit before driving her and she was really rough at first. Made some noises and such but I guess thats normal with this engine.

I've had about 10 or 15 offers. My fiancee isn't even allowed to drive it while I'm gone. I just put her on the charger and the battery will be fine.

Haha, TS, I know exactly how you feel. The M3 is also my secondary car, and I only go for the cruises on the weekends when the weather is nice. The withdrawal sucks! The RX-8 Clutch sucks so bad when compared to this car!

Dude, we can do this the easy way or the hard way. Easy way is you let me have her, the hard way I find your house, seduce your fiance into letting me know where teh keys are and I steal her so I can then not lie when I said I DROVE HER LIKE I STOLE IT!!!!

The reasoning behind it is the oil pumps on all BMW's is variable, in that the pumps can adjust pressure/flow depending on the demands of the engine. At the idle the oil doesn't flow as well through the cylinders and you get more wear and tear. Driving the car easy (shift before 3k) allows the engine to get oil worked through everything and let everything warm-up a bit.
