Radar Detector down

V1 will not boot up. Connections all seem to be fine. Any experience with this? I feel naked driving without it- has paid for itself many times over! Thanks in advance.

Have you tried a different cable or even putting it in a different car? You need to start eliminating things one at a time.

I would suspect telephone cable end at detector first. Check lighter fuse if using lighter plug. Check fuse in power cord as well.

Mine lites up when turned on...but on the last trip I took to Seattle it did not sound an alarm one time the whole trip! I think it is done for. Worked great for 15 + years.

Upgrade it via Valentine. $275 and you get a new one shipped to you, iirc.

I've had mine overheat sitting directly in the sun. It rebooted once it cooled.

That's interesting. I have mine mounted in the headrest and have never experienced an overheating issue.

For my 9500ix I just need to press and hold the power button for 10-20 seconds and it should boot up. Not sure if it's the same process for V1.
