Help!! Torque explanation question!?
Hello everyone. So after all it comes down that I have to take off vibration damper in order to get into oil filter housing. Vibration damper is attached with 4 bolts which need to be torqued to a specific torque.
My question is, what does angle of rotation means when it comes to torque? I have attached picture and on the right you see torque specs and 2 angles of rotation. Can anybody please explain? |

You need a torque-angle wrench. You tighten to the specified torque, then continue to tighten until the wrench rotates another 40 degrees then another 40 degrees. Many auto parts stores have a torque angle attachment for your torque wrench. Don't go cheapest. You get what you pay for.

And make sure to tighten all to the first angle of rotation before doing the 2nd, you will also need the car in gear to keep it from spinning the crank as you wrench on it.
Took those bolts out once from the top with only radiator removed and was pain in ass lol.
