Nope. Look up the diy
You won't have a cool looking button but it gets the job done

Or you can use 3 single lego bricks. (Or maybe it was 2... I don't remember.) I did mine years ago and it's still working fine.

Does the lego pieces go behind the button or will it become the button?

Behind the button but acts as the piece that presses the switch on the circuit board

I think the lego trick only works for 2011 and newer. To answer the original question. yes, get the switch from ECS. Put it in and the rear fogs work. You even get an indicator light on the dash when they are on. Did this to my 2008 about 2 years ago.

If that's the case, all you need to do is open the switch and cut off the 4 pieces.
You'll have a blank "switch" but you're dash will still light up regardless if you buy a Euro switch or not. Your button to activate the fogs will not light up by doing the mod, only if you buy the Euro switch.

For the small chance of using the button, I opted to just keep my original switch.

Mine's 2009. Still works flawlessly. Just take the switch out, exacto knife the tabs holding the pushbutton part in place, pop on the lego pieces, and pop the whole assembly back in. They fit perfectly, and my indication light on the button works like it should. Don't quote me on the exact procedure... this was quite a few years ago. I'm sure if someone searched enough they could find the DIY for it. It almost sounded too good to be true, so I probably would have just bought a euro switch, but there was so many people doing that at the time, BMW put the kibosh on shipping any more European switch assemblies to the US, so I went with the lego thing. Saved me a couple hundred bucks and it only took a few minutes. My granddaughter never missed the legos I stole from her.

Something that no one seems to mention is the 2011 and up cars has TWO of the pieces for the foglight trick. Meaning anyone with an 08 can ask someone with a 2011 and up to give them their piece for their front fog light since i doubt they will ever need it.
