This was removed from my 2013 M3 moments after I picked it up (new, in 2013) and replaced with the M5 knob and boot. In the process the existing plastic ring was removed (and reused) and one of the (invisible when installed) leather loops tore (it shouldn't impede install, see photos).

Other than the bit of damage around the base, it's like-new and would be a great way to refresh control surfaces in your M3.

Install will require removal of the existing plastic ring from your existing boot and a bit of super or gorilla glue to glue the new boot to the the ring.
