Just got my Acm test pipes not sure if it's a good idea with mpe exhaust

Spoke to a member and he mentioned the baffles will eventually break off inside the m performance exhaust. Not sure if this is a common issue. Before I install the test pipes hopefully someone can give me advise. Don't want to destroy a 1800 dollar exhaust. Thanks

The issue I have seen with the MPE is the canisters cracking.Dont think the test pipes will have any affect on the baffles though.

It does sound pretty awesome with the MPE and test pipes

Wow that sounds amazing. Really confused now if I should replace my exhaust. Love the sound. The only reason I was doing test pipes was for more power. I also have a tune so that will help.

How would test pipes have anything to do with baffles in the mpe?

I msg a member who was running the same set up for some feedback. He mentioned he replaced the mpe exhaust under warranty 3 times. The exhaust can't handle the extra cfm causing baffles to break. Just wanted a second opinion from another member running the same setup. It's a shame to destroy such an expensive piece.

1st generation cracking m performance exhausts were the result of an inherent weakness in the muffler design/manufacture. the 2nd generation mufflers were redesigned to prevent this. if you have a 1st gen version, you will be prone to cracking irregardless of the pipe configurations you run upstream in the exhaust.

Cracking is different than internal baffles breaking?

is there any indication on the exhaust if this is a 1st or 2nd generation. I have it up for sale. If its a 2nd generation I may keep it.

if it is a 2nd gen canister/muffler, you will have 2 holes on each side of the actual canister/muffler. if you don't have the 2 holes, you have the 1st gen version.

My car with test pipes and Akrapovic exhaust:

Test pipes and MPE

Different recording quality so take this with a grain of salt, can't go wrong with either exhaust
