cat delete xpipe without tune
I'm running a catless AA x-pipe so primary and secondaries are deleted. Obviously I now have the engine light on because of this. I don't plan to get a tune immediately, but sometime in the future.
May be a simple question, but there be any long term issues by not tuning out the o2 sensors? (ie. Running rich, damage to sensors, fuel consumption etc.) Last edited by dlaw; 08-18-2015 at 01:29 PM.. |

Thanks for the response, but my question was would there be issues in NOT tuning out the sensors and having the engine light remain on.

There is no damage. Just an annoyed 'ding' at startup and the continuous light on. If you don't want a tune right now, you can get a Akra Delete-R that plugs into the OBD slot.

You never just want to have the rear 02 sensors coded off...there is still some trim input that the DME gets from the rear 02s. What you want is a tune that deletes the code for inefficient catalyst. That being said you are leaving at least 10rwhp on the table without a tune to adjust for not having the primary cats.
