30,000 mile service...

Just dropped my M off for the 30,000 mile service. SA trying to sell me "non covered" maintenance.

Coolant Flush
Rear Diff Fluid Change
Transmission Fluid Change
Fuel System Flush... <--- I know this one is BS

Any of it worth the $$$?

Sounds like typical dealer garbage. Wouldn't buy any of it. If it was so "critical" it would be included in your free service.

I thought the rear diff and transmission fluids were "lifetime" fluids?

If that was the case, why would the dealership be pressuring you to changing them?

These three are the only ones I would do, but at 30k miles you are too early IMHO. Wait another 20k miles and do them yourself.

Funny thing is, the are replacing the gaskets on the transmission and they still want me to purchase the fluid change, ha!

the tranny fluid change will either be included in the price of the gasket change, or they are telling you that you need to pay for that as well.

anyway..whats the purpose of the gasket change?

All under warranty. Found it was leaking upon installing my exhaust.

You can accomplish a mild fuel system cleaning by using any of the below products:

Red Line SI-1
Gumout Regane (concentrate)
Chevron Techron (concentrate) (aka the BMW cleaner)
Amsoil PI

They all contain high concentrations of PEA, a proven cleaning agent. But then again, if you've been putting premium fuel in the car its whole life like you were supposed to, you really don't need these things very often if ever. I do it once per oil change.

Coolant is not lifetime, BTW.
