Catless and trying to get rid of CEL and saw this...

I think I'd rather buy a tune or Delete-R instead of cutting and splicing into wires. Just my .02.

Completely agree. Cutting wires = bad news.
Most tunes will get rid of CEL and even give you some HP/Torque. If you're spending $100 for that might as well spend a little more for a tune

You need 2 so $200. But it is a great idea, until the EPA goes after them. I would not worry about cutting and splicing. Do it in the 02 harness rather than the car side. And if you get the optional heater circuit, you could remove the 02 entirely.

Thing is it won't be in readiness mode, it just keeps clearing the check engine light. This will actually get into readiness mode and you can pass an obd2 test.

I'll say it again. A cheap anti-foulter/extender works fine and won't make you have to mess with wires, the ECU for clearing codes, etc.

A cheap anti fouler has not worked for most people on a fully catless x pipe on these cars. I tried that route first despite warnings from others that it would not work, and I used fancy anti foulers not cheap ones.

Then people are doing it wrong. It's a mechanical fix. There is NO way this shouldn't work or can't work. It does work. If it didn't for you or others you/they need to experiment with different lengths and inner restrictions. It's not rocket science, it's letting the 02 read less. Simple fix. I ran it for a while in my 2008 and now run it in a 911 turbo w/out issue.

Can you share some insight on which length works? Or at least where to start?

a tune is alot more lol but yes it's more worth it to get the tune

Buuuuuuuut, as stated earlier a tune wont get the car into readiness mode.

i was just comparing the price of $100 (or $200 as someone mentioned) to $1k for a tune. as far as readiness mode you might want to talk to mike at bpm about that.

Not really I don't have the car anymore. This was over a year ago. I found that the 90 degree smooth transition was what I used if I recall. As far as lengths, buy a bunch they are cheap enough.

I asked already for the details and he did not respond. The vibrant has smooth transitions and 3 different restrictor fittings to try. Did not work. $70 wasted.

You asked the same question. I don't know what to say. This isn't rocket science and there's no reason it shouldn't work for you. It's a mechanical fix. It worked for me on my m3 and again is now functioning fine on my 911 turbo. Both fully catless. Try using a restricted one. It will work you just have to find the correct length and design. I'm not hear to find the parts for you guys so don't be so dismissive when I dont. What I will say is it works.

I tried 3 different restrictors. The vibrant is a very good one as these go. If spark plug anti foulers worked on these cars many people would be using them. Only a few people have said they worked. If they worked, I would be using one.

CA has a sniff test, right? No simulator is going to change your exhaust gas.

not anymore, its straight obdII now for vehicles after a certain year.

If just plug in, then yes. That is the whole point of a tune or other device. But if not a tune, you must make sure the other device simulates the 02 as opposing to just turning off the cel. One condition of obd2 plug in inspection is readiness and if the cel was just reset you won't pass.

i didn't think that tunes were able to show the cats in "readiness mode."
