Good piece
Great to see an awesome F1 driver try out new platform. I know these guys have to be fit, but monitoring heart rate during driving, wow!
Heart rate of 160bpm, now that's sick. Overall, I enjoy the piece. I wish the man very best, Mark was truly a great F1 driver that just had too many bad luck. Hope u guys like it. |

It's anecdotal, but there's solid evidence that RB built their cars so geared toward Vettel, that they may have sabotaged Mark (either that, or possibly using experimental parts on his car before Vettel, resulting in many more DNFs for him than Vettel). Hard to know if he'd have been great, but it would be interesting to see how he'd have done if RB had built a car geared towards his driving style. Look no further than how sh*t Vettel has looked this year, whith the excuse that the car isn't to his liking. Never been an RB team fan in general, but some of the things that have happened over the last few years make you wonder how much it's the driver vs the car (as opposed to Alonso, who consistently seems to get some decent result regardless of how bad a car Ferrari puts him in).
Probably getting a bit ![]()

I agree with you 100%. Mark didn't do bad at all as an F1 considering all of his mechanical issues, "Let Sebastian through" team orders etc, he was never that far behind.
I've been an F1 addict since my teenage years, and the days of the 1000Hp turbo engines. It's the one Motorsport series that allows us to see some of the greatest struggle, especially when their machine isn't competitive. I think throughout F1 history, the early 90s when automotive technology started to really come of age, driver's limit/skill got exposed quite a bit. Totally agree on how some tend to adapt/survive even when the equipment isn't up to par. Heck, so insane to see the great Senna get bent out of shape when Benetton with their nannies and gadgets were about to get the best of Williams. Overall, I love seeing F1 drivers try out other platforms. Last edited by Triple M; 09-30-2014 at 08:42 PM.. |
