How to and how not to go sideways.

Ok, i did quite a few searches and i couldnt find this video being posted before. So if god forbid it is a repost then break it to me gently.

The video is quite entertaining, especially when the novice tries.

That was awseome - thanks @FifthStz. Interesting to see that Phil M - who has to have driven a lot of cars - is not a driftmeister.

It's its own thing - as they said, best to have a RWD car (less powered, I had access to a Datsun 1600) w/ much less power and learn.

I wouldn't want to start w/ a new M3!

Not a bad video. Close call there at the end.

As a guide though it was a bit incomplete, so if that is what your looking for I suggest watching this 6 series set (1 for each technique). These videos were produced by Keiichi Tsuchiya who in Japan is the original "Drift King".

1. E-Brake

2. Shift Lock

3. Power Over

4. Braking

5. Feint - There was no youtube link to this video but I found it on Google (it uses Quicktime I think).

6. Lift Off

cool video. I hate that Ben Barry though. He shows no expression while talking about a car. remember his review of the M3 in Spain?

Great Video. A parking lot with cones might have been a better practice ground.
