I saw this. But I wonder how many people actually need it. Some get by with the use of a wrist band and others like me never had an issue.

I have set up that was discussed on here before with a catch can approach. This is just an alternative to the crazy expensive 3D design one. But am thinking about picking this up.

Install is remove the OEM one and reinstall this one. the hoses look like push lock hoses. It's a no brainer.

correct - looks like it will be a quick swap. Everything is easily accessible too.

I was under the impression that the fluid overheats on the track and not just overflow.

I like the idea but not for $165. I'm going to create a L-shpaed tap with a hose and have the fluid spit down under the car.

I'm going to order this too. I'll have it ready for my next track day on the 29th. Can't wait.

Interested to see some feedback from those who ordered this. I've been using the wristband and haven't had any problems, but it does make me somewhat uncomfortable that the system loses fluid in the first place.

That's what i'm most concerned about too - losing too much fluid. I am losing tons of fluid at the track.

zero loss with the small auxiliary reservoir DIY that was posted here a few months ago, ~$20 solution. Drove me nuts on the first day as the overflow fluid was staying at the aux reservoir, until I took out the insulation under the cap and it started flowing back (a vending hole replacement essentially, minus the spill)

Here is something we made, we tracked our supercharged M3 at Mfest and other events with this set up and no issues with power steering fluid splashing anywhere. The temps were well over 95+ degrees in Vegas.

Ah, good tip to know. I'm having this aux reservoir put on my M.

I have that contraption (originally developed by Kaiv) on my car. Works well.

some ppl are already running some sort of reservoir...seen a couple of them that have a little tank off to the side the size of a breather filter.

I wonder how much the aluminum tank will aid in cooling...that would be a win win if you could get some air flow on the reservoir from the blank hood vent.

I'm considering a similar solution for my E46M3 cooling system. I am going to replace the plastic OE expansion tank for a larger aluminum tank with aluminum tubing running from the water neck of the upper radiator hose to the expansion tank. I think by replacing rubber and plastic with heat dissipating aluminum will add some cooling capability.

I think the P/S system needs more cooling...not just a bigger reservoir.

Tom@EAS says the reservoir from the 1M is a direct swap except for one hose fitting adapter since the outlet nozzle on the 1M reservoir is larger than the M3's hose. Seems like it would be cheaper if someone knew the exact measurements to determine the correct adapter. I asked Tom, but he couldn't remember. The 1M's reservoir is about $35 and has a design that doesn't seem to allow overflow.
