Vote on which Steering Wheel looks best and compliments our interior.
I wanted to see which style steering wheel is the most popular and compliments our interior of E9x M3: choices are standard round, flat bottom or Custom. Please feel free to vote and post some pictures as well. Thanks for participating.

I’m old school so, I like keeping it OEM with a little touch of color, however, I did previously went with the bmw Alcantara Flat bottom for a few months, but got tired of constant cleaning and upkeep for Alcantara. Lol..prefer leather was easier to upkeep.

I actually find upkeep to be easier with the alcantara, if you keep up with it with Sonax cleaner.

Flatbottom non-alcantara
Aright, I'll play along...

I just wipe it down with the Sonax alcantara cleaner each time I wash my car; about every 3 weeks or so. The good thing is alcantara is quite durable and doesn't show age as much as heavily used leather.

Thanks! Alcantara is back on the table for me. I really need to do something about my current wheel, it's gross.

Didn't vote because I think they both look fantastic.
With that being said, I have the M Performance alcantara wheel and I prefer the feel of the alcantara. Yeah, there's upkeep but so does the OEM leather wheel, which tends to turn "glossy" with time. In the scorching California sun during summer (even with tints and sunshade), it's nice to be greeted by the alcantara vs. a burning leather steering wheel.

I feel like an alcantara steering wheel looks a bit out of place without other alcantara accents like seats, shift boot, etc to match it and complete the theme. I'd also be concerned about staining it anytime my hands aren't 100% clean.
My OEM wheel is starting to look a bit worn so I'm considering getting one of these refinished wheels from eBay. Still undecided on whether I want round or flat bottom and whether I like the sculpted grip or would prefer a more basic round grip. The flat bottom looks more modern but I imagine round may be more comfortable. Sculpted grips also look cool, but I wonder if it wouldn't be as comfortable with certain hand positions.

I have speed cloth seats and feel the alcantara.flows well with the interior. Another alternative is Coby wheels here in Atlanta to freshen up your old leather wheel.

Something similar to this would look great IMO:
I would probably pass on the center stripe because I don't feel like red or blue match anything else in the interior, but the black stripe Mercedes has doesn't hurt. Another option that might look good would be the M-colors as a center stripe, but I haven't seen that done before. I'm leaning toward passing on the sculpted grips as well, just a tad too aggressive for the otherwise modest E9x interior IMO. Though I'm still on the fence with this. The other must-have is leather center trim. The stock plastic looks relatively cheap and the matte black paint chips over time.

Stock wheel is fine in an otherwise mostly-stock car. It looks good, it's supple, it's fat.
But I do like flat bottoms (we're still talking about steering wheels, right?) so you can't go wrong there. I have the M Performance Wheel and love it. Alcantara is holding up really well and is far better than I would have guessed, it's perfect for a weekend car. For a DD, I'd probably stick with leather. |

I've got this one saved to my watch list:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/112872657748 The only thing stopping me is that I'm note sure the Nappa leather will be as nice as the OEM Novillo and also not sure if the stitching quality will be as good as OEM. Based on the pictures, I think it would be a nice upgrade from stock without looking overly aggressive and out of place. This vendor has a rounded flat bottom and straight flat bottom version of the same wheel for anyone interested. I also asked about an M-color center stripe and he sent this pic as an example:
