Stage II is tailored to vehicles that have changes to the primary cats - such as an Akra system, high flow cats, test pipe/catless, etc.. Updatability: You have the option to upgrade from one Stage to another in the future if your plans for the car change. You won't have to purchase it again, you can pay the difference between the two stages. Software Update to 240E: At BPMSport, we like to base our files off of the latest BMW Factory Software. This way any improvements that have been made to the operating code by BMW Engineers are incorporated into your tuned software. Before flashing you with our performance software, we will update you to the latest software version available from BMW. You can elect to stay on your current software level, although we do recommend taking advantage of this update. Both Stages of our Performance Tuning Software Include: -Selective mapping of the throttle response in Sport mode -Selective mapping of the throttle response in Normal mode -Raised RPM Limiter (Nmax) to 8,500 or 8,600 RPM -Removal of the Top Speed Limiter (Vmax) -Vanos changes for increased smoothness, better drive-ability, and power -Fueling and ignition timing changes suited to your modifications and octane -Optimization of ECU Torque Management and Control Parameters -Elimination of the Cold Start Routine (Makes the car smoother on cold starts) -Cold start rev limit reduction (to keep your engine happy and prevent revving too high when cold). -Launch Control Assist for 6MT vehicles (definable at 3,000 - 5,000 RPM) -Burble Feature on Overrun You may pick whichever features suit you and we will incorporate them into the software written for your vehicle. You will experience smoother driveability, much better overall engine response, and performance increases in horsepower and torque, aside from the long list of other goodies. All software does not tamper with emissions settings. Stage II Tunes and files with cold start disabled are for OFFROAD use only. (1) My car has already been coded for certain things like LCI retrofit, mirror folding, efficient dynamics display, disable welcome sound, etc. Will your tune wipe these settings? Flashing of the 240E update and the BPMSport Performance software will not overwrite or wipe any feature coding you had in the past. The vehicle will retain all previously coded features after the flashing. (2) How does the 6MT launch control work? Check out this video: On a 6MT car, with the launch assist you floor the gas while at a standstill. The DME will hold the specified RPM that you requested to have programmed. You can then let the clutch out and feather the throttle to get off the line. As soon as the car starts rolling the full redline is available. (3) Can you explain the difference between Sharper and Aggressive throttle response? Normally we don't modify the throttle response maps. However, some customers request that the throttle be more responsive. The sharper throttle response option makes the throttle a bit more sensitive, and the aggressive option takes this a step further. If you are happy with the pedal sensitivity of the car in stock form, there is no need to change this option. Questions and answers will be added here as they are received. Other than that they will not be able to tell. Also remember that this is BMWNA/AG and not the dealership that can see this. My car has seen 8,800 multiple times with zero issues for warranty repairs/maintenance, etc. It has 46,xxx miles now and has had a raised limit for about 40,000 miles. I would say that half of our clients elect to get the raise and the other half keep those two settings stock. Thanks! |

The benefit of owning the cable is that you can revert to stock or reflash your map again, whenever needed. Like if the dealer does an update and wipes out your tune. That might not be very common, but I want to be able to reflash if needed. Plus, it sounds like if BMW releases a software version greater than 240E, we'll get the update for free.

I currently live in a place with 93 Octane, if I move to a place with only 91 Octane, will I have to pay for a new flash?
