Here's a small update. The engine was sent to the UK for Syvecs + tuning. The engine arrived in the UK about 3-weeks ago. The tuning is scheduled for end of August.

Nobody here stateside had the engine dyno harnesses and adapter plates for an S65. Dinan has them, but they don't have their engine dyno set up after they moved locations a few years ago. Then there was the issue of cost. Bert says it was literally cheaper to ship the engine to the UK that do the tuning here even with somebody who had the engine dyno stuff. But I feel ya. Once the engine comes back, we'll put it in Bert's car and strap it on our Dynapack dyno. Feel free to come by then. :-) |

I'm in the UK and would love to listen to it on the dyno! but I don't know where in the UK it is, aside from anything else.

A slight delay while the racing shop upgrades their engine dyno. Hoping for only a 30-day delay...but could be longer.

Thanks , not sure how they'll respond to a request to listen to the engine though!
The one in Wisbech? If so, damn that's miles away (I was hoping it'd be closer, lol, oh well). Btw, random question, do you know the company Ed Pinks? (in the US, not sure of spelling).

Whose Singer? (sowing machines aside! )

(Seems I have the right company, they don't have their own website outside of FB. Anyway, a 2.5hr drive is rather too much for my liking ).

I drive 3-4hrs to visit my sister for the weekend, I would probably drive 6hrs too to visit friends or family for the weekend (though I wouldn't be keen on it! lol). I had to do an 8hr round trip to view my 330d, and again when I decided to buy it (which turned into a 12hr round trip thanks to bad traffic all the way up!!). So yea I'm willing to drive far where needed, or worthwhile, but I'm not willing to do a 5hr round trip to listen to a (cool!) engine for 10-30mins? Also the US has much cheaper fuel than us (even if the gap has shrunk a bit?), currently diesel is ~£1.35/ltr and petrol ~£1.33, = £5.13/£5.05 per US Gallon, which apparently is $7.06/$6.95 per US gallon. Last time I went to France (~2yrs ago), petrol was quite a bit more and diesel was cheaper. True that my 330d is quite economical at an average of ~43 UK MPG (~36 US MPG), but still, cost is a factor (hence my M3 is a weekend car btw). Well that was a much longer post than I anticipated! lol How much is fuel in the US atm?
