Things your neighbors say about your car

They have a similar thread on the F8x side but I'd like to hear about the E9x's.

We have cooler cars anyway

Been asked twice.

My neighbors don't talk to me, they just do the universal nod, I'm sure they don't like me for downshifting in the middle of the night a few weeks ago

No pics. Sometimes when I have 5 M cars there I think I should take one though

Half of those aren't mine though, they just hang out at the house

-My neighbors...probably.

What I need to assume was a neighbor send me a post card talking about I "better watch your shite-car, will smash it, pure paint on it"..etc. Twice (!), with a few weeks in between. Fairly posh area down town where one would expect some reasonable behavour. Luckily nicely parked away in a garage night time or I'd have been worried. Anyways other then that only plenty positive comments.

All 3 neighbors went gaga when I dropped the top or when I started the engine. One offered to let me drive his Cayman S hoping I would return the offer. Another came over to tell my wife that he knows cars and that I picked a good one.

I was driving through a school parking lot onetime and I stopped to drop the top and 3 pedestrians stopped in their tracks and clapped when the roof finished tucking into the trunk.

I did a quick turn at a cul de sac in my community and the kids told my kid that I scared him with the sweet sound of thunder.

I have had an F80, F82, and E92 over the past 4 or so years and my neighbor has constantly called them all M5s no matter how many times I correct him. Every time I do correct him its like we never had the previous conversation.

Who knows maybe he is trolling me....

I don't really talk to my neighbors. Just moved to the neighborhood everyone is mostly in their late 20s like me and our generation doesn't really seek chatting like prior generations.

That being said.

I have had neighbors walk by with kids or walking their dog when I am washing the M3 out front. I have gotten a few complements. Mostly simple like "Nice car", "Sweet car", yada yada.

You should talk to your neighbors. Having a solid community off social media is important.

This is indeed fake news, slightly a little try-hard as well. I myself have the special edition Z24 Cavalier, and I do not get this much attention.

lol..

Believe it or don't believe it.

For the casual observer (like neighbors), a standard looking E92 two door or a bloated looking E90 saloon is never going to look as cool as a vert, especially if the top is dropping or the top is up with all 4 windows down.
