This is blasphemy. Test drove the 991 C2S once. The stock exhaust note sounded like a sewing machine. It's not even remotely close to the S65 with PE, let alone better it. The only 911 that sounds decent is the 991 GT3.

Nothing sounds better than a stock Maserati GTS.... Holy cow did they put time into getting that right from the factory.

You know it's going on until like 4am right? I just left there. It was a good time. I'm going to post pics in the European section in a few minutes. I was a little disappointed in the ///M content. There was several ///M cars there, but they were all scattered. No organized area for ///M's |

The Porsche note is distinct, and I appreciate it for what it is, but to be honest it doesn't sound that great. It is loud and unique and you can't get it anywhere else. But by itself it's not really a great sound IMO. |

I'll add the Panamera GTS with the sport exhaust to that list. Best sounding Porsche V8 sound track. It roars, has a nice burble and pops on the over run. Not the prettiest nor best handling car though.

are you talking about both inside and outside both the M3 and the 911?
This matters b/c there are cars that sounds great inside, but doesn't sound like much outside, and vise versa.

Oh, what the hell...I'll play. These are very different cars with very different engines...that's basically it.
Best sounding car I ever owned was a 997 C2S with a Tubi exhaust. Zero drone and so very tasty and exotic. A few vids of exhaust setups on a few cars I have owned for comparison: 911 w/ Tubi E92 M3 w/ IPE F1 RS4 w/ Magnaflow

The M3 with the muffler delete or OEM mod just sounds like a straight up race car. The scream is just crazy, and it has the perfect touch of V8 rumble. The downshifts are insane. Now I will admit that I do love a loud exhaust which is not for everyone, but as far as which one sounds better (not living with it on a daily basis) the M3 sound is one of the best IMO. I actually test drove a few Porsche models over the weekend including 2 991s models; one with sport exhaust and one without. They didn't sound anywhere near as good as my M3. In fact, this was pretty much the only front the M3 won on; engine and exhaust. The 991s will most likely be my next car, but I have pretty much accepted that after the V10 and V8 M's my next car will not sound as good. Now, if we are talking 991 GT3 with exhaust...that may be the best sounding car I haver ever heard, but that sounds nothing like a regular 991. |

Can't agree more with this. I had Eisenmann Race on my old M5, which made it sound like a Gallardo, and I'm going to pick up an IPE exhaust for the M3 soon.

Stock vs stock, modified vs modified exhaust, I'll still go for the S65. The 911 is still a hell of a car, although I've completely fallen for the current Caymans. They'd be my Porsche of choice
