This is blasphemy. Test drove the 991 C2S once. The stock exhaust note sounded like a sewing machine. It's not even remotely close to the S65 with PE, let alone better it. The only 911 that sounds decent is the 991 GT3.

Nothing sounds better than a stock Maserati GTS.... Holy cow did they put time into getting that right from the factory.

BTW: People were talking about you on Facebook on an automotive page. Some guy said he saw and heard your car and wanted to meet you. You have a fan club lol.

To the individual that said to get the OEM exhaust mod, I already have it, and I still say the 911 stock sounds better. Maybe it's because I haven't really heard my car from outside the vehicle. I will tend to agree that (especially with windows up) the OEM exhaust mod sounds tame and unimpressive from inside the car, but sounds alive and beastly from outside (which I haven't really experienced much of).

To clear things up, I never said our cars don't sound good (or if I did, I did not intend to do so). I just think the 911 stock sounds 10x more impressive than our cars
Yup I'm sure that it was me. LB E92...stupid loud.

If you and any of the other ///M folks around town get together, you should definitely drop me a line!

Will do I work right across from the Shopette (not the thift shop, the building next to it behind the brick wall) so my car is usually parked there. If you ever seen me around, say hello.

You know it's going on until like 4am right? I just left there. It was a good time. I'm going to post pics in the European section in a few minutes. I was a little disappointed in the ///M content. There was several ///M cars there, but they were all scattered. No organized area for ///M's

Yeah..I know but that's the EXACTLY reason why I wasn't there, I'd love to attempt to a huge ///M car meeting or at least some nice cool car's. I was actually concerned upfront there would be more chaos then anything, majority of VW then anything exotic

Anyhow maybe a few of us here can setup a meeting as they are also alot of military car enthusiast's in and around HD/Stuttgart area....aaaaand ? Summer almost here!!!!

Cheers!!!!!!

I work in KTown, would love to hear your ATAK. I have a Megan Racing which I like a lot, IMHO one of the better options with testpipes. Would love to hear your ATAK.. PM me so we can get together.

I am inclined to agree with you.

The Porsche note is distinct, and I appreciate it for what it is, but to be honest it doesn't sound that great.

It is loud and unique and you can't get it anywhere else. But by itself it's not really a great sound IMO.

These are all simply phenomenal sounding stock exhausts, and better than any modded M3 system IMO.
I'll add the Panamera GTS with the sport exhaust to that list. Best sounding Porsche V8 sound track. It roars, has a nice burble and pops on the over run. Not the prettiest nor best handling car though.

are you talking about both inside and outside both the M3 and the 911?

This matters b/c there are cars that sounds great inside, but doesn't sound like much outside, and vise versa.

Oh, what the hell...I'll play. These are very different cars with very different engines...that's basically it.

Best sounding car I ever owned was a 997 C2S with a Tubi exhaust. Zero drone and so very tasty and exotic.

A few vids of exhaust setups on a few cars I have owned for comparison:

911 w/ Tubi

E92 M3 w/ IPE F1

RS4 w/ Magnaflow

Once you get your stock muffler modded you'll notice the difference dramatically

Agree 100%. IMO the V8 M3 and V10 M5/6 are some of the best sounding cars out there. I just have a muffler delete on my M3, and had the same on my previous v10 M6. I try to attend every car function, C&C, CCA meet, etc and it always ends up that my car is one of the few people are begging for me to rev or waiting until I leave to hear, and there are certainly plenty of other cars including just about every model of Porsche available as well.

The M3 with the muffler delete or OEM mod just sounds like a straight up race car. The scream is just crazy, and it has the perfect touch of V8 rumble. The downshifts are insane. Now I will admit that I do love a loud exhaust which is not for everyone, but as far as which one sounds better (not living with it on a daily basis) the M3 sound is one of the best IMO.

I actually test drove a few Porsche models over the weekend including 2 991s models; one with sport exhaust and one without. They didn't sound anywhere near as good as my M3. In fact, this was pretty much the only front the M3 won on; engine and exhaust. The 991s will most likely be my next car, but I have pretty much accepted that after the V10 and V8 M's my next car will not sound as good.

Now, if we are talking 991 GT3 with exhaust...that may be the best sounding car I haver ever heard, but that sounds nothing like a regular 991.

Can't agree more with this. I had Eisenmann Race on my old M5, which made it sound like a Gallardo, and I'm going to pick up an IPE exhaust for the M3 soon.

Stock vs stock, modified vs modified exhaust, I'll still go for the S65. The 911 is still a hell of a car, although I've completely fallen for the current Caymans. They'd be my Porsche of choice
