I don't mean to throw a dart at this, but Competition Edition? What does this mean. No competition seats, no five point restraint system, no roll bar, but you do have heated seats, fancy interior, a premimum package of goodies, and of course, additional opitons and the hand brake, wow. I guess they are not talking about the car, but about history.

It's just BMW's strange naming convention. In 2010 the company released the M3 "Edition", with black style 220Ms, black exhaust tips, and some similar interior bits as this one. This is called the "Competition Edition" because it's simply the Edition plus the Competition (ZCP) package -- same treatment as the 2010 Edition, but starting with a ZCP car.

Some of the styling choices on this car are incredibly cheap -- like they were outsourced to GM or something. I was hoping for a more streetable version of the GTS, a la the CRT. Too bad.

Words simply cannot express the joke that this car is in term of commemorating the E9x M3. It looks like all innovation and imagination at BMW has died (or at least gone elsewhere). What a disappointment. And the name of it! Basically a parts bin exercise.

Disappointed no power upgrade or exterior up grades like carbon fiber splitters and spoilers. I would have thought they would do more then just lipstick job on a special edition.

yeap the ebrake is very tacky. Frozen colors look a lot nicer in person! As for the price, eh it would be chump change to some people

I just saw this car in person today at the vpc in Oxnard. The pictures don't do the car justice. Didn't like the pictures - looks really nice in person.

Too little, too late. Even if you can forgive the premium for NO performance upgrades, the color combo is at best uninspired showing the E92 body as long in the tooth.

And to have only 40 produced for the U.S. shows that it's nothing more than a marketing exercise. No thanks, M-Division.

I thought the oem center consoles had to be modified for M3s because it didn't have a space for the buttons.
