Audi R8 is the poor mans Lamborghini. Sorry but if i bought a R8 and pulled at a street light next a new Lamborghini Lp610 or Lp560-4; i'd feel terrible about my purchase.
Even the Bentley GT 2016 is is it trying to be a race car? or a Luxury car? I had the 2006 GT back in 06 and traded it for a Gallardo droptop in 2011 and at the time the Bentley was a sexy dead drop looking car with smooth lines. Now they make a boy toy looking car instead of a nice looking Luxury car. |

As a driving instrument, I'd take the previous gen R8 over any of the Gallardos you mention. (Do like the Balboni though.) And I'd take this new R8 over the Huracan, which reportedly has a problem with turning. R8 is a less pretentious, better performing and reliable, driver's version of a Gallardo. See plenty of R8's at the track. Only a couple of Lambos, one of which was a Murcie that couldn't keep proper forward orientation. But if I was all up in da club, or cheesin' hard at stop lights, yeah, Gallardo/Huracan. And Bentley all day when you've run low on Grey Poupon or tobacco for one's pipe, and need to make a quick but luxurious run for such necessities. But then you risk being really exposed because with that real money you'd be driven to the store in a Rolls or Maybach.

I prefer the exterior of the older generation but that V10 sounds exciting!

Personally, I can't wait until these come out so (hopefully) the first gen r8 prices drop
A pipe dream is to own a v8 r8 6mt, but my stretch budget for a second car is 60k. Right now they sell for 15k over what I can swing :/ Not much interest in the new one for me at this point. To me, the lci v10 manual was perfection |

Not a fan of the new R8 with it's more squared off looks. And highly disagree about the Gallardo/Huracans being crap compared to the R8. The Superleggera is quite a capable car and the Huracan even more so.

Audi likely will price it just a bit under the entry level Huracan. Though the V-8 should still be accessible at around $120k (or I would hope)

The R8 is competitively priced and place within the marketplace, unless you can point to cars that offer value, (wait for it.......GTR, Corvette, Viper......)....or you're just saying buying ANY 200k+ car is unreasonable? This is true when you don't have $200k to spend. But people buying these cars DO have more MONEY than ideas on how to blow it (scary but true, the top 1% is getting richer).
